Any idea why long videos are corrupted after cssu install?
Well, I finally got cssu installed and really the only reason I did it was so I could record videos for longer than 99 minutes. With cssu installed it will now record longer than that, but everytime it does, the file gets corrupted and won't play on anything.
Any ideas??? Short vids work fine. |

This post should be move to camera-ui2 thread, or at least, CSSU one. I'll try to reproduce that myself (haven't tried that after latest CSSU update).

Re: Any idea why long videos are corrupted after cssu install?
This could be less a time issue than a size issue. As I recall, N900 records in MP4 format, which shouldn't have any real limits. AVI has a 2G file size limit, which with the given compression could lead to time-limit length issues. But MP4 shouldn't...
One issue you may be having is that it records in MP42, which is still relatively new. MPlayer and several other players have had issues with the format, since it's closed source, and not fully documented. |

I've copied the files to the computer and neither vlc or mpc will play them. Ohh, and one of the files was under 2gigs.

I just recorded a video with 117 minutes, medium quality. It is over 2g in
size and plays without problems. What video quality did you use? |

Re: Any idea why long videos are corrupted after cssu install?
Well, I think I figured out the prob. I had a kingston 32gb card in there that I thought was working. I had previously tried saving the vids on internal memory and then the kingston, but both failed. Then I noticed yesterday, I still had it set to save media on the kingston and I took some photos and I was unable to view any of them. So I took out the card and shot some vids and pics and everything worked fine. Also filmed me last night for about 7 hours I think, and it worked fine. Strange that the card caused an internal memory prob.

...please pay attention to the k i n g s t o n sd/micro sd... in my experience the worst of sd producer brands (slowwww transfer rate, long access times..)
K i n g s t on is great for ddr/ddr2 but not for cards if you make some searches you will find other similar experiences. I have bought 3 models (certified and verified). Everyone one of them is crap if compared to sandisk, lexar or transcend. I suggest you to try lexar 32gb.. ;) |

Well, what's also weird is that my 8gb card works fine in everything.
I have a contour gps which I originally got the 32gb card for, but also corrupted all vids after one or two. But the 8gb card works fine in that and the n900. |
