Please help
 

This weekend my N9 started making all kinds of errors. First of all it started with my messages .. i was getting messages with the wrong name showing from who it was sent.. like a text from my girlfriend showed up under texts from my dad. Then my email (gmail) stopped working. I am not getting any email sent to my phone and it used to work fine. Now I click mail and it says checking mailbox but times out eventually.

Can anyone help me with this?

I have never done that. What is involved? Is there a procedure? Will I loose everything on it?

try rebooting it.
then try resting back to factory settings.
then use google eg: N9 flashing,
click the links and read, repeat.
