I've gone and pressed 'Secure Device' on my phone

.. And now I don't know my lock code.

I found it earlier after someone cracked the pass for me, and it was slightly different to the one that the previous owner gave me. But I apparently changed it so it won't work any more.

Here's the old thread:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...975#post930975

What can I do to recover my lock code, or at least boot up my phone without it?

I have a multiboot with NITdroid on, if that helps.

Alright, I went and flashed the phone, then got the code using John the ripper. It turned out to be my date of birth. ****.

Now I've lost all my apps :S

I dont think you needed to flash the emmc just the kernel, little late now but if there is a next time you wont lose your apps.

I flashed the rootsh (or something), so my data on the emmc was still there. The apps weren't though.

It's not too hard to get some invisible ink, write the lock code down on a small piece of paper, and slip it under the battery (not under the back cover!)
It'll look like you put the paper in there to stop the battery from moving (pretty common problem in old phones).

...that's what one should use password management tools (like KeePassX) for.

Ok, KeePassX on your desktop.

But is KeePassX already usable on the N900?
The last time I checked, some parts of the GUI were too small.

Well, if you put your password manager (software) on your N900, it won't help you when you need your lock code will it?
