Restore N900 to factory settings?
 

Hi, i was wondering how i would go about restoring the phone to factory settings as im have a few problems, plus its really bloated and full of crap.

Only problem is, the microusb socket on the phone is broken, so i cant do a reflash unless i can do it remotely via SSH or something.

Is there really no way of restoring the phone to factory settings as an option in the phone? Thats pretty ridiculous, phones from 10 years ago had that option, and im pretty sure pretty much every phone now has that function :/

If you hit the topbar in settings, there's a restore to original settings

Ive tried both of the options in there, and it doesnt clear my device properly at all. All my apps etc are still there. I want complete factory settings :/

you could install backup menu and then restore a backup of a fresh factory backup but you would have to find someone who just reflashed and get a copy of their clean backup. Someone was looking for one a few weeks ago idk what the outcome was. I think the thread was named looking for factory backup.

Just use thr nokia update program, it will give you the latest and clean factory setting

Install backupmenu, ask somebody here for a PR1.3 backupmenu image.

Now that's on-device reflashing.
