Htc hd2 wtf?

The HD2 is a, is a, a, silent killer!
I mean, that nifty lil piece of ***** can run MeeGo, Nemo, Android, WP7, Ubuntu, and Windows Mobile.

How's that?

the HD2 is just as old as N900 but with better CPU and 512ram.
MeeGo looks very slow, (early 2011):

Nemo, all i could find was themes/skins.

Not bad, but I wouldnt jump ship for this ;)

WTH do you mean by better CPU?
The N900 is an OMAP3430 VS. Qualcomm QSD8250, you would need two of those Qualcomms to match the N900. Better RAM? I certainly agree. But I guess you only inferred that the HD2 has a more powerful CPU by looking @ clock speeds, which is just like comparing an Intel Pentium 4 @3GHz with an Intel Core 2 Duo @2GHz.

Re: Htc hd2 wtf?

In general, OMAP chips are superior to Qualcomm ones.
They usually give slightly better performance at slightly less battery drain and support all the modern standards.

However, the first-gen QSD processor in that is indeed faster, the extra ram makes it even beefier. But its much more thirsty and very slow by today's standards (1.4GHz Dual-Exynos).

Its the community and the software which kept it alive, and had Nokia released an N900 successor, we would be in the same/better state.

What I proposed back in Jan 11 for successor:
1.3GHz Cortex A8, SGX540 and 1GB RAM
32GB internal + microSD + microUSB-HOST + microHDMI
4.3in SLCD 854x480, compass, 1,700mAh
17mm thin profile, tilt-screen, 5-row qwerty
open source drivers for Harmattan

Re: Htc hd2 wtf?

I'm thinking about buying a HD2 again.
I also want an N9,but i have to wait because of the Price.

To Bridge the Time i want a HD2. The options to install Android, wp7 and meego are perfect. I am App. Designer and have to test many Apps on different OS.

Is this a Good idea in the meantime?

I'm using both N900 and HD2. I was actually impressed by the performance of HD2 when I first had it. and the hardware doesn't look as old as N900.
Yet I can't let go of the N900. maybe until I see maemo on HD2 or other devices.

Development for HD2 is forcing me to get one for playing with it. its very cheap and many different OS's are available for it.
