Possible to turn Vim into a (fully functional) Python IDE?
I'm wondering if Vim at the repos of Nokia N900 can be customized so that it could also have the same IDE functionality in this url - http://sontek.net/turning-vim-into-a-modern-python-ide
Is it possible? If it is - is it safe to just run the shell script in the site? Thanks :) |

Risking not answering your question but rather telling you something you might not want to know: There is a pretty decent emacs version available for the N900, which I find very nice to work with. I know: It's not vi ;)

You could also try the excellent PyGTKEditor from Khertan available in the repos. ;)

In extras there is vim, but it's without python support. I made deb with python support
repo url: http://maemo-repo.f-y.name/ , distr fy-maemo, components main You can try to run that script on PC and then move configs to N900. |

anthonie & StefanL - thanks for your suggestions. I will test them out but Vim is my priority ^^;;
ForeverYoung - I'm a bit confused on how to set that up but I'm gonna try it. And also for the sake of people that goes finds this through google - the author of the setup responded to my question if it can be installed - http://sontek.net/turning-vim-into-a...ment-411392756 I'm actually installing it right now as I type this. Hopefully, all goes well. |
