Pandora apps on N900

Hi! I am a new guy here, and the only reason I registred (so far) is to tell you guys - Pandora apps may run on N900!

First of all, pandora is a handheld, manufactured by VERY talanted people from GP32X forums. You may check it out here. I was tracking this device for a long time, and noticed, that its hardware is barely the same as N900 got! So as soon as I got N900 I tried to launch some apps and it worked like a charm!

So here is some instructions of what to do if you want to launch pandora app:

First find an app you want to launch (you may get it from apps.openpandora.org), for example this game.
Save PND file anywhere in your computer.
If you using windows just unpack it with 7zip and put anywhere on N900.
If you using Linux mount PND anywhere and do pretty much the same.
After that open xTerm on maemo and launch your programm with it. And here it is - if all ok it will start! (Not anything will work because of missing packages or some hardware problems)

Hope you guys will find this usefull!

Re: Pandora apps on N900

I've actually been re-packaging/testing Pandora apps to run on the N900 for a while now:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=75992

Here's another port, this one by hadjistyllis:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=76084

I even made available an unsquishfs binary for the N900/N9 that will unpack those Pandora PND files directly on your Nokia:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=76263

Unfortunately, I've found that the N9 is not as friendly a home for Pandora apps as the N900 was. Much like WebOS NDK games, Pandora apps are much harder to get working under Harmatten then they were under Maemo 5... :(

Packaged Syobon Action from here: https://hxka.keybase.pub/maemostuff/..._0.9_armel.deb
Controls: z — jump, arrows — move, o — suicide.
Quit only with Ctrl + Backspace.

Wow, this is almost as hard as 'I wanna be the guy' (based on YT vid), thanks! Going to try this later on

Awesome. Works very nicely. Got first stage cleared at only -51 lives left :) Wonder if sequels are out there too. Thanks and if you have more games working from pandora pls share (VVVVVV sadly runs in 640x480 not-fullscreen, required libmad, libts and libtiff can be symlinked to pretend the newer versions that are expected and it runs somewhat slowly, but seems SDL focus issue is preventing any key getting reaction from the game so stops at 'press action key' screen, shame)

is there a chance to port nesemu?
http://apps.openpandora.org/cgi-bin/...tor/nesemu.inf

i know about the nes emulator for the n900, but the one im talkin about isnt that great, supports not many nes game mappers etc.

A port of Final Burn would be great:

Re: Pandora apps on N900

Pandora is strictly breaking FB Alpha license:

You may freely use, modify, and distribute both the FB Alpha source code and binary, however the following restrictions apply to the FB Alpha original material (see below for a list of libraries with differing licenses, please consult their respective documentation for more information):

* You may not sell, lease, rent or otherwise seek to gain monetary profit from FB Alpha;
* You must make public any changes you make to the source code;
* You must include, verbatim, the full text of this license;

They have to provide their modified code, or they just are chinese gnufukers

Re: Pandora apps on N900

Is it possible for pandora version of GIMP to work on N900?

I know about GIMP on EasyDebian but I only use EasyDebian for GIMP (which uses a whole 2GB of space) so having it run seperately (only 100mb) would be great

I extracted the pnd file to /home/user/ and changed the script to direct to that directory but I get this when I try to run the script ./gimp-2.6.sh:

Code:

./bin/gimp-2.6: symbol lookup error: ./bin/gimp-2.6: undefined symbol: g_realloc_n

Re: Pandora apps on N900

Does the pnd file contain any info on dependencies? You might be missing libpng12-0/libpng12-dev? (according to this thread, but is a wild guess: http://groups.google.com/group/funto...5d658e68cb269d).
Could you upload tar.gz of extracted pnd by any chance? (would suggest despositfiles up/downloads work from/on device)
