[Request] libmodplug / .MOD player?
Hi!
I've just seen a .SID player in the Ovi Store and it got me thinking about my .MOD collection. Is there a version of libmodplug that works on Maemo and how hard would it be to put a QML skin over it? |
Re: [Request] libmodplug / .MOD player?
I was looking for this very thing a while ago, but since I'm too easily distracted, I didn't manage to locate it. I wouldn't think it'd be terribly difficult if one had a Harmattan build environment to build their own libmodplug. I just haven't had the time to do it. We do need an 'extra codecs' package similar to the one for the N900 that supports all the formats.

Would it be easier or harder to add the "modplug" lib from gst-plugins-bad to Harmattan's gstreamer? Would it integrate .MODs in "tracker" and Harmattan's "Music Player", or would that have to have been done by Nokia in the first place?

Re: [Request] libmodplug / .MOD player?
This just shows how little I know about this. I tried downloading the .debs and when installing them the message is "Unable to install: invalid installation package". I tried clicking the .debs after downloading, do I have to use dpkg with some different options? </noob>

mod-support is available in the Nokia Store as a store compliant "binary blob" and also as proper packages in my OBS. Instructions and links here http://maemo.tal.org/index.php/maemo:mod_support

And a "sid-support" package should be available soon. Needs just the screenshots and icons required for the store... sigh, I hate doing those.

Re: [Request] libmodplug / .MOD player?
This is great news :)
Any chance of seeing support for console music formats? Like NSF files (Nintendo 8-bit), SPC files (Super Nintendo) and PSF files (Playstation)? |
