N800 needs a disk utility app -- DESPERATELY

As a month-long owner of an N800 and a daily reader of this and other tablet sites, I feel lucky that my N800 has remained functional and has not suffered any fatal breakdowns or memory card disasters. But as a user who is not proficient in Linux or Maemo programming, I'm scandalized that Nokia has left users of this wonderful device out in the wilderness with a multitude of bugs, and utterly dependent on the wisdom and crowd-sourcing of other users to diagnose and solve fundamental and basic consumer problems with the reliability of the N800. There is no systematic resource for glitch-plagued owners and incredibly poor documentation of standards and troubleshooting. Why is there no disk utility or diagnostic software available? (True?) For starters, how about a disk utility that could fix the rampant problems with the Application Manager and its crazy repositories? How about a diagnostic for corrupted memory cards? For false error messages? How about a standard set of file specs for video playback (especially for non-Windows people)? Why is video chat such a nightmare?I love Nokia's innovation, but why is the N800 such a sadly orphaned product? Okay, rant over... That's my plea for constructive responses from the N800 community -- or am I just a crank?
