MH5: Nokia Maps Framework for Mobile HTML5 (beta)
 
The MH5 Framework is a JavaScript framework designed for quick and lightweight creation of location-based mobile web apps. You can easily develop your own native-like applications, that benefit from using Nokia’s maps, search, routing, and places services, just like Nokia HTML5 Maps.

The Nokia N9 is one of the platforms supported (experimental). Looking forward to ideas & experimentation using this API. A potential good chance together with some Summer'12 Device Program activities.

suggestion #1 : to be compatible w/ openstreetmap API would be nice :-)

#2 : then let's build an importer to get contents from this map :

I would say that a port to Maemo 5 is urgently needed.

The common denominator in the "Now" section is WebKit browser engine and its mobile API coverage.

If someone wants to try Maemo 5 support this is the first aspect to be considered.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but none of the available licencing options seem suitable for non-commercial apps. "Trial" will just stop working at some point, while "standard" will start billing the developer once past the quota (no idea about premium, but presumably it also costs real money). The FAQ (Q11) recommends "standard" which seems strange and inappropriate in that context. Any thoughts on this?

webOS is also webkit, but doesn't work (both versions 2 & 3 go into an infinite reload loop).

How about Presto (Opera)? The example code doesn't work on it currently, but this seems like the easiest way forward for pre-Harmattan devices since even Mozilla have abandoned ship.
