How can I play videos shared in Windows?
I have some videos in my PC that I need to play from my N9. All of them are in a shared folder (Win7).
With my N900 I used Wizard-mounter then I could access the videos from the default video player. I'm searching for a similar approach. I tried myExplorer, but when I click in a video, it starts downloading instead of playing. So, is there a way to mount Windows folders and play the content with a video player? How can I mount folders with the terminal? Thanks in advance and sorry for my english. |
Re: How can I play videos shared in Windows?
normal users don't have access to mount capability on harmattan. So you cannot mount cifs folders unless you hack your device or use some external fuse utils.

For playing on your N9 videos stored in your PC, there is another way: Helium
Edit: in fact, actually it's only possible to play on your PC files stored in your N9. http://jensge.org/helium-a-m-dmc-for-your-n9/ |

I installed INCEPTION. Now I can execute mount command, but I can't get it to work.
~ # mount -t cifs //192.168.1.2/eaf /mnt/asd mount: mounting //192.168.1.2/eaf on /mnt/asd failed: No such device The folder is accessible trough the network, if I ping the IP from my phone, it response OK. What I'm doing wrong? PS: I created the "/mnt/asd" folder with mkdir. |
