OS Software Question

What are the minimum mobile phone hardware requirements for Maemo? (i.e. processor speed, flash memory, etc.)

for maemo 5 minimum(and maximum) hw reqs are nokia n900...

maemo 5 runs smoothly even when cpu is limited to 250MHz(even angry birds run smoothly on that freq most of the time) just no heavy multitasking then...

Technically, you could get it running on another device; however, much of Maemo is closed-source (hildon-desktop fir example) and you would probably need to rewrite more of it than it's worth to run it on any other platform.

I'm most certainly certain that hildon-desktop is open... but you are correct that there are still a large number of closed source 'blobs' preventing anyone from migrating Maemo to other devices.

@TC: You might want to look into Cordia if you want hildon running on other devices, as well as the n900 now.
