Skype Video Calls?
 

Is there a way to get Skype Video Calls to the N9? Peregrine was supposed to have that but they haven't had any updates in like 8 months...

No other alternative other than Gtalk vid call atm :/

They're both somewhat closed platforms, but at least Gtalk encourages access to non-Google authored clients. Information on the protocols used are made widely available:

Skype is closed CLOSED CLOSED. Previously they had several deals with Nokia that allowed video calls to be developed under Symbian and Maemo5. That would have been theoretically extended to Meego, but Nokia bailed on us all.

Shortly after M$ bought Skype so that junk is off limits FOR GOOD.

Well that sucks. With Skype video the N9 would really be the smartphone
