But I have a nice Nokia 770 so this make me part of the family , huh ?:) So my question is in the thread title , the gadget to use on is Nokia 770 and if somebody please can explain step by step :1. install this 2. do that .... Re: Runing windows exe files on debian platform
Windows apps can be run on linux desktop and notebook computers with x86 processors by using wine. The 770 and N800 have ARM processors, and therefore wine won't work on them. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Re: Runing windows exe files on debian platform
Thank you for your quick reply John.
I heard some "rumors" about that :) but I was thinking that must be a way...a mini-debian-wine version or smth like that to "emulate" ... whatever , so is nothing we can do with that little windows progs or utility to run on our little "machines" ? bitrate |
Re: Runing windows exe files on debian platform
if somebody ported a virtual machine emulator such as dosbox, bacus or similar you might be able to do it. Why do you want to run windows apps anyway? is there something in particular you need?

See WineHQ #285 (http://www.winehq.com/?issue=285#Cro...piling%20Wine). I donot have an ARM based machine and linux installed on it. And havent test it thorughly, I need someone to test this one. This patch may contain some bugs, use at your own risk. Please send me your comments Thanks, VJ" Is this any good ?  Cheers, bitrate |
