OS2008 Launch On Boot

I have poked around but haven't found a way to have a program launch when the machine is turned on. I am tired of having to search for GPE Calendar every time I reboot and want it to always be running. Is this possible?

You can create an init.d script to start the app at the end of the boot sequence but that might be rather difficult if you're new to Linux.

Or you can go into the control panel, select panels, organize apps and move Calendar to the top of the menu or create a custom menu with Calendar and other most used apps. That is how you organize apps on the app menu.

You can also try installing Telescope or Personal Launcher. Telescope opens a fullscreen icon based grid of app icons and is uses the same organization as the app menu. Personal Launcher lets you add icons for specific apps on your desktop.

Thanks Auouomous
Reorganizing the order of the applications is making life easier for the short term but I would like to learn how to write an initial.d once a get a little grounding in Linux
I did notice that while I could change the order of programs in Extras and create new categories to put programs into I was not able to drag Opera into Communications
I am guessing that you can't ad to or delete from the basic categories Nokia created but it is a moot point now since a second browser became an unsupportable extravagance this morning when I ran out of memory and my machine went into an infinite reboot sequence
I will check on the size of Telescope and Personal Launcher and see if I can fit either or both of them in

You can move any app to any category, but you need to hold the app over the category name for a second and then drop it on the text. Just keep retrying if it fails. Although, if your filesystem was full it might have prevented you from moving the app.
