Possible new 770 user - couple of questions.
I'm thinking about buying a Nokia 770.
My main uses will be: 1. Remote access to Windows 2003 Server - VNC or RDP Any issues doing this ? Is there an RDP client that can do console mode ? Is there a VNC client that supports zooming or scalling ? 2. Mobile Internet Access. I have a Nokia n73 3G mobile, I'd like to access the internet using this as a bluetooth modem to get 3G access. Any problem ? 3. Email & Web Either via WiFi or 3G ? Any Problem ? I welcome any comments... ! My other option is to buy a WindowsMobile PDA, but the screen resolution is low. Thanks :) |

Re: Possible new 770 user - couple of questions.
This post might be redundant to the one above but:
1.) VNC Viewer works great, however no scaling or zooming is implemented. 2.) The RDP client (last I checked) is unable to use the 770's onscreen keyboard. Simple solution for me was to bring up the XP onscreen keyboard from the box I was RDPing to and use that. Bit of a pain, but when in a bind it's a good solution. 3.) Web access is great but don't expect to pull up huge Flash sites. The version of Flash on there is old so lots of things like Youtube won't work. (There is an app or server called UKTube that will convert the .FLV files and play them locally though if you've *got* to have your YouTube.) 4.) (I know, it was part of #3...) Email. Beats me. I use gMail (which works great) but I've heard everyone with POP3 accts still complaining that all the 770's email clients suck. |
