GPS location tracking
Hi,
I recently bought one of these 770's and a GPS unit and I think it's a fantastic piece of kit with a lot of potential. I have installed a bluetooth GPS module in my car and it works perfectly with maemo mapper. I'd like to get the 770 to update my location to a web server that will plot where I've been, possibly using google maps. So, In theory, If someone stole my car, I could track its location by going to a specific site. I know there are companies you can pay to do this, but thats too expensive. I have the gps module hidden in the car, and I have an old phone hidden too that is paired to it and has 3G capabilities. Any Ideas?? |
Re: GPS location tracking
Man, it's really weird that you mention that! I stole a car tonight, and boy was I surprised that somebody left an expensive cell phone and a GPS in it. Bonus!
Oh, wait, what kind of car did you say you drive? :P Sorry, I don't know what web site to point you to... This search should yield a few though: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ack+cell+phone |
