/usr/bin/Xorg -logfile eating my battery
hi!
i've noticed that /usr/bin/Xorg -logfile /tmp/Xorg.0.log -cor (end of screen) is using a lot of cpu (2,5 - 5%). average idle consumption is more than 25mA. can someone help me? i searched the forums, but only found n900 related posts... thanks! |
Re: /usr/bin/Xorg -logfile eating my battery
Did you check with display (X) on?
Then it is absolutely normal for Xorg to consume that amount of CPU. Try SSHing into your device (display off) and see again. How did you check consumption? Many daemons installed? ??? Already tried a power search? |
Re: /usr/bin/Xorg -logfile eating my battery
display was on, consumption checked with "top". avg idle consumption went up, so i checked, and found this process.
definitely wasn't using that much cpu before. seems it started logging something... (says -logfile). will investigate further... |
Re: /usr/bin/Xorg -logfile eating my battery
@dommau,
That's just the X server. Without it you wouldn't have a graphical environment. The logging is irrelevant. It will just log a few lines at startup. Unnecessary, but entirely irrelevant concerning battery.. |
