Nokia seeks to sell its Finland headquarters
HELSINKI: Struggling cellphone maker Nokia is seeking to sell its headquarters in Espoo, Finland as part of a drive to dispose of non-core assets.
"We are evaluating different options for non-core parts, such as real estate holdings, and that includes the headquarters," spokeswoman Maija Taimi said. The glass and steel building by the Baltic Sea is valued at 200-300 million euros ($259-388 million), according to a report by Finnish newspaper Iltasanomat. Nokia, which has been trying to improve its finances through large job cuts and other measures, told investors in July it was it was also looking to sell properties. |

It's not a rumor, Nokia is seeking to sell it.
Though it's planning to sell the HQ and then renting it for "at least 10 years". Nokia HQ is actually Nokia's only big facility it itself owns, so this has been rumored to happen for past year. |

We should all chip together and put a bid in?
Now I know that HS said the building was worth 300million but this is Nokia here and they need the money, surely they will be open to offers ;) On s serious note, even though they were discussing this in July,It i's still a sad situation for Nokia to be in. The are effectively re-mortgaging the roof above their heads. |

I would prefer a new supply of N900's, not a building or a company that's on the brink of disappearing. Doubt they would sell them thought. |

Easy part: service manual. More difficult part:
The most difficult part: Vendors sell such equipment either in bulk, or for exorbitant price. Still, you don't have to buy all parts, or service tools for Nokia N900, from Nokia. Nokia doesn't manufacture everything. Assembling N900 from parts bought elsewhere, not through Nokia, would be even more difficult, because of precise work, such as soldering. Just ship it to Redmond instead. Even more cost effiecient and thats where decision that matter for Nokia's future are done anyway.
