cannot play .rmvb on nokia n900
 

getting problem to play .rmvb on nokia n900 actually wen i press rmvb media file in file manager that media player opens but doesn't play and gives error that format not supported. and wen i play it in kmplayer it plays video but no sound. plz help me out

Without any more details from you on what 'the problem' is and what you've done to resolve it, it's hard to know what to suggest.

but wen i play the same of on kmplayer wit mplayer it plays but sound. i hav 23 .rmvb files but none plays sound only video. once i checked those videos on pc it worked well. and i remember few months back these files opened via media player that time it was working. i dunno wat suddenly happnd now

The reason why the audio isn't playing is because it's an unsupported format (rasipr). On my N900 it plays the video OK, but no sound - and it also tells me that it can't find the rasipr codec. Why yours is crashing I have no idea - possibly because you're using a version that you've built manually? (according to your post history).

A qucik-n-dirty solution would be to convert it into a more sensible format (mpg/avi) etc which your N900 should be able to handle more easily.

Also, I see from your post history that you've had many other problems in the past relating to codecs, files not showing up in media player etc. Most of the problems have been discussed to death here at TMO so it's pretty pointless going over them again. Use a Google search with "site:talk.maemo.org" to limit the results to this forum - much better than the forum search functions.

What's that "#" up there? are you running mplayer as root?!

Try as user, please. also, use the "-v" option to get more verbose output. It may help in finding what's wrong.

o ma god. o ma god it worked sound is coming now thank u very very much. the problem is only need a proper gui for mplayer.
