on the n9 mail client, is there no 'leave msgs on srvr'-option for pop3 available?

Not what you want to hear but: don't use pop3 anyway. It's archaic and superseded. Use IMAP, over SSL/TLS of course. Using IMAP your mail on various devices and desktop will be in sync and the "leave on server"-option is completely moot.

yeah i know abt imap, been around for some time :)
using it for workaccount...but not liking the idea too much
so the n9 does not support that option at all?

Account POP3. Download "Header Only" in N9 Settings.
A receive the mail, tap for reading, eventually tap for atachments download.
After that, on PC i receive (Outlook) the message, including attachments. And in Outlook the message is marked Unread.

funny, doing same (hdr only) but they won't come anymore on my computer after i received & downloaded/read them

I have 2 accounts, one at my ISP and one on my own site. Both accounts work the same. Also on gmail.

One "workaround" would be to set-up some free POP3 account (gmail, etc.) and forward all your incoming e-mails to the new account. Then you use POP3 with that account.

The only thing that would not work is deleting e-mails from the "original" account, but if you want to leave the messages on the server anyway, I guess you don't want to delete anything.

Maybe is releated to what kind of e-mail server / e-mail server setting do you have at hoster ?

a hoster? sry, does not compile....

the mail service is gmx.net.... works fine on all devices but n9
