dbus-scripts not compatible with N900?
I tried
dbus-scripts_2.0_armel.deb and dbus-scripts_1.0+maemo-5_armel.deb from here: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d.../dbus-scripts/ but both times my N900 says "Not compatible". According to install-log there is some problem with "package must have section user/FOO" ->? I have version 21.2011.38-1 on my N900. Any help on this? Is there some other version for dbus-scripts? I'd like to use it together with jschan tethering scripts ( http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=124 ) |

That worked. But now I get "bnep0 does not exist" when starting the script from jschan. But I will check this in the thread tethering n900 to google nexus 7 http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=85649 |
Re: dbus-scripts not compatible with N900?
The /dev/bnep0 device file is dynamically allocated/created, so will only exist when you have a Bluetooth network connection established (not necessarily configured). Make sure the appropriate kernel modules are loaded first too, or it won't get created at all. Bluetooth tethering to android is a real PITA... the only thing (on android) I found that works for the N900 providing network services to android (on my TouchPad) is nctether, and it is flakey as hell (only works after a reboot, requires a reboot to kill, etc).
On the N900 side, it wasn't too bad, once I realized the android software was the problem. Now if you're going the other way, android providing network to the N900, that's a whole different ball game (tons of Bluetooth tethering host software on android). I've never tried it. |
