Nightime Brightness
Hello fellow N9ers,
I have a habit of reading at night and love the screen rotation mod to keep the screen from not rotating. But what I miss from android days is the ability to bring down the screen brightness. I used something called a Screen Filter app which actually brought a translucent screen in front of the actual screen. It worked great for night. Does anyone know of a mod or an app that exists for tweaking that? PS: I dont know anything about codes but can read and implement somethings. I am a biologist. :) |

Re: Nightime Brightness
Thanks. I tried the first one and found that it is just like a quick access to brightness. The second one seems to be the same. I anyway keep the screen at zero brightness at night. But that is no way enough. Its too bright and not good for the eye.
But superb screen. i just love it. |
Re: Nightime Brightness
Well, I have found turning the color profile to subdued helps a bit. Using FBReader with moderately bright text on black background works pretty well for ebooks.
A proper solution would be awesome though. A Redshift/F.lux equivalent would be nice too. |
Re: Nightime Brightness
Yes changing color profile just helps a little bit but that is no way going to take out the brightness. For eg opening a google page when lying in dark can be so bright that you lose your sleep for next 2hrs :D

Re: Nightime Brightness
N9 QTweak maybe helps..
Tweak BB: Display Tweaker 1. Enable/Disable automatic brightness – You can enable or disable automatic brightness. You also have option for tuning of brightness (from 0 to 225), you can use this after disabling auto-brightness. WARNING: DON’T put this string to "0", this will switch off your screen!!! http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=80600 |
Re: Nightime Brightness
Thanks Wallace. I am going to attempt this tonight and let you all know.
But it will be boring to go into the app and type a command every night to get the brightness and again type a command to get the brightness back. |
