Can the N800 replace my dead iPod?
My two month old iPod video died and is off for repair, which has me looking at my N800 as a possible replacement. There are features that make it better than the iPod, such as stereo speakers, wide screen, no need to sync with a computer to get new content, FM Tuner, and a variety of multimedia software for just about any format. What I haven't found is software that works well for listening to podcasts. Specifically, I'm looking for something that remembers my position in an audio file. Sometimes I'm listening to a long program on the way to work, and I like to continue listening from where I left off on the way back home. Any suggestions?

It replaced mine!
The only problem I have is the same one that you are having. I listen to podcasts to and from work, and what I'm having to do is just remember that I left off at 36min for when I get back in the truck in the afternoon. I'm also using the softpoweroff hack and in order for that to work correctly, I find that all applications have to be closed or for some reason the touchscreen stays active and when I hit the power button to turn it on there are all kinds of things open. So as you see, I can't just pause it and come back to it later. The app has to be closed to go into softpoweroff. |
