help needed to install gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra
 

Hi to all, and i hope you'll have nice christmas celebrations and new year ! sorry my english is horrible !

well, I'm trying tu re-install recaller ...

but it refuse because it says it need "gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra"

my extra repository is enabled, so, I don't understand what is
the problem.

can someone of the gurus, can give me a step by step to install manyally "gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra" ? (apt-get ? or what else)

last think : recaller was ok during one year, but i don't know why it doesn't work now...

Just looking for the terminal commands?

Become root (have rootsh installed, use root)

As root I ran

to search for the package. That command returned 5 installable packages. I was looking for the top one.

Now run (still as root)

Done.

PS: Personally, I don't use root, but run "sudo", but as many people seem to have trouble getting sudo to run without it asking for a password, I used the root account here.

well i'm trying to install recaller.

I do :

apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-good and it says :
"gstreamer0.10-plugins-good" is already the newest version.

after that I do :
apt-get install recaller and it says :

some packages could not be installer, this may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created. or been moved out of incoming.

the following packages have unmet dependencies :

recaller: Depends : gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra but it is not installable
E: Broken packages.


what can i do now ? i'm very disapointed cause recaller is a very nice app, and i love use it.

try to installe recaller via app manager.
i just installed it yesterday without any problem.

some days ago i removed gstreamer for 720p video support.
and the recaller also.

The single package of gstreamer that is removed for 720p playback is
gstreamer0.10-openmax .

The gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra package is in Nokia's repository and not in extra repository.
Please install rootsh if u havent already.

Then in terminal try

root
apt-get update
apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra

It should install gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra and its dependency.

If any problem post the reult here:)

ok ok I do :
1) enabling repositories
2) sudo gainroot
3) apt-get update --> ok
4) apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra --> ok ok :-)
5) installing recaller ---> ok ok ok :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

but ... the problem .... impossible to add the widget on desktop ?
i have no chance ... :-(

what I'm missing ?
