[Solved] Nokia Maps Issues
Hi guys !
I have issues with my Nokia N9 64GB. I already reset my phone in two ways to try solving my issues : - via NokiaSuite - and then via Settings > Reset > Clear Device When I want to start Maps, I have the black screen + Maps' icon. Just normal. Then I got on this screen : http://i49.tinypic.com/yci78.png Still normal. And then, I got this : http://i48.tinypic.com/2evxbt5.png So, i just can't use Maps and this is pretty annoying. I have not pre installed any maps by the way. Do you have any idea how I can solve this issue ? Drive works, but it takes lots of time to start. Do you know from where it could come from? Thanks for any help already. Paul |
Re: Nokia Maps Issues
Do a re-install of maps and drive packages as root in terminal:
Code:
apt-get install maps maps-guard nokia-drive-qml nokia-drive-qml-guard --reinstall -y |
Re: Nokia Maps Issues
@thedead1440 it should be like this :
apt-get install --reinstall packagename because a normal apt-get install will tell you the package is already the newest version . |

Re: Nokia Maps Issues
Thanks to care. So, I did what you proposed. Still the same.
I tried this as well : Code:
# apt-get remove maps maps-guard nokia-drive-qml nokia-drive-qml-guard --purge It does not look like it purges because it didn't download the packets during the next command : Code:
# apt-get install maps maps-guard nokia-drive-qml nokia-drive-qml-guard Same issues. BTW if I don't click on "Yes, close the app" and I wait a long time > 10minutes, Maps finally starts (was already acting that way). I wonder what could have done it. I wanted to try this, as the problem seems to come from something else, but looked scary with so many packets to remove : Code:
# apt-get autoremove maps maps-guard nokia-drive-qml nokia-drive-qml-guard --purge |
Re: Nokia Maps Issues
pmeuh,
Where did i say to do a purge or remove? I asked you to do a re-install and put the command too; be careful with autoremove as the meta package would be removed too leading to you having to flash the device. So once again do the --reinstall command properly and reboot it... |

So, I did what you proposed. Still the same. I'll try it again though. |
Re: Nokia Maps Issues
So I did it, and same as the first try, nothing has changed.
I start thinking to flash my device as it was out of factory ... Annoying. Thanks for giving help proposition ;) -edit- So I am trying to remember since when I had this issue. It seems to me that it appeared when I install this "Dominoes" app. I wanted to see what would happen if I removed it. I removed it from the desktop, and then weird stuff : my desktop icons were disappearing. Like lots. I switched of the phone. Seems that the phone is not starting anymore. It stays on 'Nokia' starting screen. F*ck. -edit2- Well. I flashed the device. It now works like a charm. Thanks for your time. |
Re: [Solved] Nokia Maps Issues
Strange my girlfriend has the same problem now...just 2 weeks ago. I wonder what's the reason and if you tried to delete the CITIES folder from your storage to let maps create a new one...?
