[Announce] libre-chess on extas-devel (for fremantle)
2 Attachment(s)
This is renamed osso-chess-ui (which is open source). Package name is libre-chess and it is not forcing to use closed source graphics and closed source sounds.
There are also packages libre-chess-graphics and libre-chess-sounds (thanks Addison & al: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=82639). Data packages are optified (closed versions are not). I will happily update these when somebody provides me (even) better graphics/sounds. ---- Just for note: it is using bundled conbtdialogs as extras-builder can't find that package. ---- |

I think this material should be part of CSSU.

Is there a way to add more difficulty levels ? Low level was already quite hard last time I checked...

Plus CSSU is supposed to only contain stuff that is not installable via apt-get from extras. |

Aww.... Thank you for doing this Aapo.
By the way, what the heck kind of opening moves is that? :) |
Re: [Announce] libre-chess on extas-devel (for fremantle)
I'm happy if this chess will make it way to the CSSU.
I'm happy if this chess will be usable also for users without CSSU. My ultimate goal is 100% floss MaemoReloaded (which use much from CSSU) and after that I will promote every N900 user to use it. -------- Quote:
... Or I just wanted to make some moves and undoing, so undo- and redo-buttons will be visible and activated. |
Re: [Announce] libre-chess on extas-devel (for fremantle)
I actually "borrowed" almost all of the graphics and sounds without any permission from two different web sites.
Just sayin'. :) |

About the CSSU inclusion: why couldn't it be distributed like e.g. Open Media Player - included in CSSU testing (AFAIK, it is, correct me if I'm wrong), but also installable via extras (in case of Libre Chess it could be also built for older Maemo releases). Even if I'm wrong, I don't see a reason why it couldn't be distributed that way. |

[EDIT] I replaced sounds from several kde-games (kgoldrunner, knetwalk, kolf, granatier), licenses GPL2+. [/EDIT] |
