Hopw to install missing package osso-thumbnail?

I am trying to install rapier (Bible software for linux).
When I try to install it from the app manager. it tells me that the following package is missing:
osso-thumbnail0 = 0.5-1fix

How do I get that installed???
or
does anyone know of a different bible program???

I am having the same problem with osso-thumbnail(). You could use GNOMEsword, i know the maemo site doesn't have a link to download it, but for somereason it is in the repositories on my 770. Its kinda late now but ill look in the morning and find out how i got it.

Hi there.

Double check you have the following repository set:
deb http://repository.maemo.org/ bora free non-free extras

This is where osso-thumbnail comes from.

It looks like this package is installed by default, i dont know why it s not on your tablet already.

Re: Hopw to install missing package osso-thumbnail?

It does show up in the application manager as installed (this is the case on my N800, anyway) but it is only visible when in red pill mode. So try enabling red pill and see if it's visible then.

Oh, and here's a link to a list of Maemo repositories that may be a little easier to read for newcomers: Link

I'm trying to install rapier on an N800. The app mgr says it is not installable because the following files are missing:

libgdm3
libreadline4 (>=4.3-1)

How can I resolve this? I'd like to try rapier out.

Re: Hopw to install missing package osso-thumbnail?

I have no clue what libgdm3 is about.

libreadline4 comes from
http://repository.maemo.org bora/free

If you have already try in red pill mode, try to install an xterm, or to log in via ssh and use apt-get to install it:

apt-get update
apt-get install rapier

What does it say ?

I'm pretty new at this, I just read up on how to get into red pill mode. Forgive my ignorance.

I just installed x-term, but I'm not sure what to do next.

Re: Hopw to install missing package osso-thumbnail?

Hi there.

Clicking on http://repository.maemo.org/extras/d...rapier.install should have resulted at least in having bora-extras added in your repository list.

You can check it out either with the application manager or by readin /etc/apt/sources.list where you should find a line with:

deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras bora free non-free

If the install still fail in red pill mode with the application manager, open an xterm and launch as root:

apt-get update
apt-get install rapier

Re: Hopw to install missing package osso-thumbnail?

I am having the same problem trying to download the gpe-calendar on my 770 running the latest itos06. When I am in the application manager and try to download, it states it cannot install. The details state that it cannot find the package osso-thumbnail0 = 0.5-1fix. I do not see this package in my list through application manager.

I have made sure that I have the repositiories as listed in this thread and as root, performed the apt-get install osso-thumbnail0=0.5-1fix . In response, x-term states:

"osso-thumbnail0 is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 151 not upgraded"

Any ideas on where I can find this component or resolve the issue? Thanks in advance for your help!

***UPDATE: After searching for a day or two and of course, 10 minutes after I posted, I came across this thread that should help everyone. It worked for me. Thanks! http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...t=GPE+Calendar
