MCC - Introduction of new councillors to council environment by qwazix.

Call for Chair of HFC & MCC - chemist is assigned chair for both in this term

MCC - Issues with midgard need to be resolved by more manpower with actual
knowledge of midgard1 and 2 and test migration possibilities.

HFC - Defining Membership + Election criteria and merging into MCC will be this
term's interest.

HFC - As HiFo has no longer an assigned treasurer; SD69 was asked to resolve the
issues with not being able to access the HiFo bank accounts and that former
treasurer gets his access revoked.
Only director with access is SD69, which is not a good idea as a
4-eyes-principal coverage should be installed.

Hildon Foundation Board of Directors Election Process

1. Nominations will be accepted 2 weeks before the election begins from any
community member with a karma of 100 or above.
1.1. Nominees with a commercial interest in Maemo or Hildon
Foundation, such as working for Nokia - or any other company involved with
software development - must declare their interest when advertising their
nomination. Failure to do so may result in the HFC, declaring their nomination
invalid and so bar them from standing in the current election.

2. Elections last for 1 week.

3. Only community members who have had maemo.org accounts for over 3
months and have karma of 10 or above, may vote.

4. Each community member eligible to vote gets a single ballot.

5. The 7 nominees voted for most, as counted by a single transferrable
vote system are elected. (For special cases see HiFo bylaws.)

6. There is no limit to the number of times a board member can stand for
re-election.

May I ask what is the state of BoD elections?

• Official Election timetable states "2013-05-21: Nomination Period for BoD Ends. Presumably. Rest TBD".

• On the maemo-community list so far we have 2 nominees only.

• The voting page states "Starting 2013-06-20 23:59:59 UTC: Hildon Foundation Board of Directors Election Q2 2013"

• The [ELECTIONS] [COUNCIL] news aggregator states (since weeks) "In a few days this post will get augmented to also explain the 4th election that you might have heard about: HiFo BoD election."

To me, all this does not make much sense.
I hope council and woody14619 together can get things straight and clarify the situation ASAP.
Last #maemo-meeting joerg_rw tried to put this topic on the agenda without success.
Also no word on the bank-account issue.
I'm quite disappointed.

Generally speaking, what in fact is going on at BOD and Council(s) levels? IRC logs are not happy reading and there has been a dearth of comment from reps after the elections. Clearly there are issues.

I hope this attracts something other than an acerbic comment or dismissal...
