-In my (multi)boot menu i've got: -1 Maemo 2.6.28-omap1 -2 NITDroid 2.6.28.NIT.07 on mmcblk0p2 -If i try to boot Maemo i get the following error: Can't flash kernel, required files not found Guru Meditation #00000025.62017712 Hit any key to panic - If i boot my NITDroid i get into my setup wizard and when i click the android to continue it says the setup wizard isn't working anymore, then i press ''OK'' and then it reboots NITDroid - If i remove my SDcard i still get the same error on Maemo and i get the following error on NITDroid: Root filesystem mmcblk1p2 NOT available Guru Meditation #00000025.62017712 Please help me with this problem, Thanks. |
Re: Please Help! i can't boot any OS!
it all depends on your linux knowledge.. but at first glance, i think it might be much easier for you to just reflash the rootfs. if you know your way around a linux system, you could have a look at RescueOS, and then try to fix the mess MultiBoot/NITDroid created

Re: Please Help! i can't boot any OS!
do you have extras-devel repo enabled ?
and how you installed Nitdroid ? Via auto-installer ? |
Re: Please Help! i can't boot any OS!
In Nitdroid, just skip the setup assistant, you might add your account later.
To boot Maemo, you will, probably, have to boot from the kernel of a firmware image, described in this great wiki article http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...rt_topic.21.29 |
Re: Please Help! i can't boot any OS!
@qhubekela i don't have a lot of knowledge on linux so i dont how to do what you're talking about.
@panjgoori i believe i do have extras-devel repo enabled, and yes, i did install Nitdroid via the auto-installer @ i'll have a look at the topic and try what thats saying Thanks for the quick awnsers ps; i can't boot anything when i press 0, 1 or 2 so i don't know how to boot anything else (like only kernel) |
Re: Please Help! i can't boot any OS!
I made it it not clear, sorry! You do not boot the kernel , but you flash the kernel, only the kernel. You need the flasher utility for your PC's OS and the firmware image. You will find the informations on flashing in the wiki article in the earlier post, then run the command to flash the kernel-only on your PC, then connect the N900 to the PC via USB.
Please read the wiki, and ask your questions here, if any. |

@pichlo @michaaa62 so those steps are just the basics?? or do those steps fix my maemo boot problem, and restore my n900??

Re: Please Help! i can't boot any OS!
Flashing the kernel as michaaa62 suggested will remove the multiboot menu and replace it with booting Maemo directly. What happens next depends on the extent of the damage. Most likely, Maemo will boot normally, all you need to do is some (optional) tidying up to free some space taken up by now defunct multiboot and nitroid.
