[Announce] Shazam for N900/N9/N950
 
Download Shazam

Download the file, and extract the contents to the root of your phone (the zipped files are already in the correct directories)

then go to terminal and do the following:

devel-su    (default password is rootme)
chmod 777 /usr/bin/Shazam
Then you can run it by just using the icon on the homescreen on the N9/N950

To have an icon on the N900, you need to move the desktop file first (the whole command is 1 line):

mv /usr/share/applications/Shazam.desktop usr/share/applications/hildon/

Somehow, it tells you that there is no internet connection found.
Maybe someone can fix this?..

OH hell no, I ain't touching that with a 5 foot pole.
Enough of packaging nightmare for me today.
Anyways, SoundHound has better recognition software than Shazam, thus check out my signature link. :D

Finally, another app for music recognition :)

I like Soundwave a lot but the recognition when singing a song is poor (almost zero, in fact :D). SoundHound is quit good in the same situation.

Waiting for a working version of Shazam for the N9 :)
