It is interesting. It would be nice if there could be synchronization between the N900 calendar & contacts & a Linux machine running Mint or Ubuntu that doesn't have drawbacks like going through the cloud or being sort of a pile of tinkertoys to set up.

Interesting... but i tried that route before (who expects people do perform such config rituals?). Couldn't resolve error messages, also slow sync expectingly messed up, normal sync mode not possible.
Now very happy & satisfied that CalDAV-Sync beta runs effortlessly & as it seems flawless in the background. The initial calendar selection (what to sync) is just plain awesome. No more error-prone linking of calendars in cryptic files.
Good luck, seriously, for anyone testing this.
