apt-get install tar -> kill yourself
Try and do an 'apt-get install tar' and see what the mighty package maintainer will bestow upon yer. Here's a sample:
Code:
~ # apt-get install tar |
Re: apt-get install tar -> kill yourself
I am pretty sure the above is the N9 so no battery can be removed. Secondly, tar on the N9 is a dependency of the meta package mp-harmattan and removing it too in turn results in most other system packages being removed as mp-harmattan is the glue holding all these packages.
It's a frankly stupid system implemented by Nokia but then you should not be accepting the dialog confirmation from apt-get... |

I tried similarly "apt-get install gzip" after I had received gzip ERROR in "apt-get ugrade" and it had similar result (removing many mainly pakages (5.x MB), and I press Y, but fortunately after restarting the phone is working and I see no problem apparently (I didn't add development sdk repo to my device). What is your opinion? |

Re: apt-get install tar -> kill yourself
Because it wasn't on the device: not found.
Anyway, i just though of giving a heads up with this thread. The whole thing restarted midway, the phone booted and just lacked a lot of apps, like call, messages, ..., etc. After reflash it's ok, along with settings and such. Just needed to reinstall some third party apps. |
