Can it be increased somehow, for better readibility in lighter conditions?

Said in Billboard thread that it cant be controlled or no solution for that found.

Damn. Would be sweet. Don't know if it's a bug or not but yesterday my LPM screen was noticeably brighter a few times when I locked the phone. It went away after a while. Therefore I wondered if there were some permanent solution.
