Media Streamer as an externally controllable UPnP player?

While the Media Streamer app will act as a UPnP player and a UPnP controller for other devices, has anyone persuaded it to act as a UPnP player that can be controlled by other UPnP controllers?

I thought that I would use my old 770 as a streaming media player that I could control via my N800 ... but it doesn't seem that you can. Has anyone found a means of doing so? Maybe with other software?

I am currently using Mediatomb on my desktop computer as a media server and it works like a champ to each one separately.

2nd that - Same interest here. Mediastreamer is a GREAT app, just needs to be able to act as independent uPnp-Renderer, too.

Wouldn't you want a higher powered machine to act as your uPnP renderer, though?

Not if you don't have a high powered machine and would have to buy one. The N800 and 770 render audio just fine for many purposes. It would just be nice if you could control one from the other.
