The end of Harmattan age?
Quote:
Now the Nokia N9 owners will be left without updates and we can think that this is a end of an age. The Meego Harmattan was a incredible environment but the software is open and we can create a alternative app store to get alive our phones. We can be alive with community efforts or then, let's be happy with Android. Did the OpenRepos.net supply all our needs? |
Re: The end of Harmattan age?
This wasn't supposed to happen until 2015, right?
I usually don't use the store that much. There are no new useful apps, and all I need is usually available via packages in the forum or other sites. So it won't be a major problem, but yes, the end of an era, as this will accelerate the decay of developers number in our community. With this, Nokia is trying to force loyal developers to leave Symbian/MeeGo and go for the establishied Micro$oft platforms, I was for sure expecting something like that to happen. Let's hope our community won't loose forces and continue with the great developing that has brought Whatsapp and many other key apps to the light. |
