800 vs 770 (reason? 770's are super low priced now)
Just wondering how many here are still using and loving their 770's? If you haven't seen it, 770's are going for $150 at CompUSA . So, 770 and some nice accs. or hold out for an n800?
Thanks. |

these current threads will cover most points of view:

I got one myself and love it. Ultimately only you can say if you want to pay 2-3 times more for an 800. |

To be honest, the only thing I am missing from the things that work on the 800 is flash 9 and aisleriot (and I have a mostly working 770 version of that). Also with the sudden influx of lots of us 'cheap 770' owners, I think there will be more software. Quote:

I think if I had a choice to get the 770 for cheap or the N800 to be "up to date" I'd go with the 770 again. I'd wait (and save) till early next year to get the new tablet that's gonna have WiMAX and likely some other goodies.
I'm loving my 770 more than ever. I use it daily, and can't imagine my world without it anymore. $150 is a steal for such a useful Nokia gadget. |
Re: 800 vs 770 (reason? 770's are super low priced now)
I bought the 770 back in the day before it was released, but they kept delaying the release date, so I canceled the order.
Then when I saw the 770's so cheap recently, I was ready to pounce, but ended up getting the N800. People have said how slow the 770 is for switching between aps - something I do A LOT of, and support for SD (and now SDHC) was another big motivation for me. But if you don't switch between aps a lot, and don't need a lot of storage, I say go for the 770! |

Keep looking around. When I first was told about 770s, it was a deal at expansys. I faffed around a bit but went back later that day to get one, and they had sold out. I looked around the internet a bit more, and found them at play.com so bought one. I know they are all part of the same batch as they came with US power supplies - it is actually against trading standards to supply electronic equipment without a valid plug, but I wasn't going to complain at the price (although I have since seen on forums that play.com refunded up to £5 for an adaptor to anyone that provided a receipt - I didn't bother, the adapter cost less than £1!).
So there are more out there. |
