HELP: Recovering deleted messages N9
 
Hi all good to be back, this time its my messages, accidentally deleted all my previous messages, instead of one, now wanting to retrieve them. As usual take me through step by step :D
Note: I have not back up data previously :(

It's highly possible you have lost your messages for good.

try copying the /home/user/.smartsearch folder off your phone as soon as possible, and then use an sqlite db manager software (like sqliteman) to inspect the db files. It's possible that your messages might still be there.

If it was a DB corruption, then that could help but OP stated that he deleted the messages himself. I am not 100% sure whether it makes a difference, of course it might be that the entries in DB are not scrapped immediately, only marked as deleted?

How do i retrieve the home/user database. Where can i find the file, under run of command prompt?

Actually I believe the tracker databases are under .cache/tracker/
I am not sure what the stuff under /home/user/.smartsearch/ is, maybe that is cached all over the filesystem?

That's why I thought about smartsearch. It's just indexed (how stupid is that, re-indexing a database in another database) for search purposes, and it might not be refreshed immediately upon delete.
