is there any way to show the linux boot process?

When i turn on my n900, i see the nokia splash, then the dots, then the homescreen.

is there any way to get the splash, and then see the boot process as if i was booting my desktop linux computer? (dmesg)?

i think i saw a video once where someone's n900 did this

thanks

Serial console is your friend.

juiceme,
wouldn't it be possible to compile the kernel-plus with fbcon module and we add/modprobe it early into preinit?
Same as been done on the N900 (power kernel)?
