2.2009.51-1.205.1 update error

Hi guys! I have a problem with me NEW Nokia N900 phone. I bought this phone few das ago, before i had a Nokia 1100 so it is a great change for me.

My phone is free, but it is from Vodafone UK. I read some things on the net cause VF wasn't updated the new firmware, so i can't update it so easy!

I also read some posts about how to flash, but i am really noob for these things, never did something like this.

Somebody can help me with a step by step description, how can i do this?

P.S.: I read the other thread, but some links aren't availaible. I tried with Nokia PC Suit, but this gave me an error, so it wasn't so efficient. I really don't know what to do.

Thanks for reading my crying letter :D

*Sorry for my bad english, its not native language.

There are no more updates from nokia or vodafone. Click on the cssu update (top right on this page) and choose the stable flavour.

I am wondering how you have a "NEW" "UK Vodaphone" N900 but aren't English? It seems amazing there are new ones at all for starters.

Anyway I believe Vodaphone UK had there own firmware image.

You are best to completely reflash the device to Global firmware and then install CSSU-S (Stable) as explained in the links below.

Thanks guys for answers.

Yeah, it's interresting a bit cause i am not english, but my phone is from UK. Bought from a friend, who got it as a gift. Bought it with unbrokoned box. The phone was purchased from a Vodafone store, but it isn't locked for Vodafone.

I tried to download from my phone. The download does not started, so i get to my PC and copyed to my phone. I installed the app, but after the install when it was checking for update is asking me to make a backup save and telling me to use Nokia PC Suit to install this update.

So this did not works too :(

I read the instructions. I followed it, did anything how is wrote, but i am still stucked at the No suitable device found, waiting screen. I made a download and installed the libusb-win32 package but im still stucked. Waited along 10 mins pressing "u", but nothing happens.

What can i do forward? What should i try?

It looks like you are using some 64-bit version of Windows. There are threads discussing flashing in such cases, but to cut it short, the general advice is reboot your PC to a 32-bit version of Ubuntu or Debian, install flasher and flash. The link that sixwheeledbeast provided has the details.

After i reflashed my phone got a nice video on youtube, what step by step descrive how to update from this site :

In video, after the update the orientation-lock was availaible. In my case i can't find it. Searched now on the net to find and way to enable it, but i wasn't lucky.

I think the orientation-lock applet was in earlier cssu versions standard.
Now maybe this helps you:
