How do you install Java on the N800? I'm lost. I followed the instructions at java.com, but it failed to install.

Java isn't yet supported on the N800, maybe you could post a link to the instructions you found on java.com.

There has been some work to develop ports of J2ME but not J2SE, mobile rather than standard edition.

Yep, that link's for Linux on a x86/x64 platform (Intel/AMD based) not the N800-ARM platform. If only it was that easy....

Funny, coincidentally was having a discussion earlier today with some former colleagues about a developer who'd come unstuck with a similar issue of platform compatibility for Solaris binaries across x86 and SPARC hardware.
