bluetooth keyboard for N800

Is the N800 compatible with any Bluetooth keyboard? I cant seem to find the Nokia BT keyboard. The travel keyboard made by Palm looks pretty good. I prefer a foldable full sized keyboard rather than a scaled down version.

You can find the answer to your question in this forum by using the search function. There are a few threads discussing various bluetooth keyboards.

The Think Outside BT keyboards appear to work fine. They can be easily gotten, ie., Amazon.

In reality, any bluetooth keyboard compliant with the HID Bluetooth profile will work. The Think Outside keyboards above work fine with the "Generic 105 PC" profile -- set in the "Hardware Keyboard" control panel.

My only disappointment is that in the setup described I can not input any symbols or international characters... but everything else in the normal English US keyboard appears to work fine.

For inputting international characters it seems we either need a profile specific to the Think Outside Stowaway keyboards or else some way to defineinput character mappings, ie., xmodmap. Search on the forums for threads talking about this.

Think Outside works fine. I would recommend applying LockTite on the screws right away though, as several of them came out even before I had started using it properly.

The new apple bt keyboard would be sweet to be able to use. I tried with a logitech bt kbd but something was wrong with the pairing, pin should be 0000 but that didnt work out.

I use the Think Outside keyboard and recommend it highly. Its compact portability complements the N800's. The only strange if minor drawback I found was that it's not completely stable on a flat surface, but I solved that by cutting a couple of squares of thin plastic foam which I tuck underneath the "wings" on either side of the unfolded keyboard when I'm typing. They fit nicely into the carrying case with the folded keyboard.

I know you mentioned it above, but I didn't see any replies. Has anyone used this Palm Wireless Keyboard with an N800? Palm's site doesn't say whether it uses HID or SPP, since obviously they're marketing it towards Palm devices. Its not just a rebranded Freedom one, is it?

Mine says (on the spine):

palm (R) Wireless Keyboard
SKU No: 3245WW
FCC ID: O62G9

And it works nicely.
I would have attached a couple pics, but this forum is set for a maximum filesize of ~100K, and the jpegs from the Nokia camera app are ~190K, so I'll have to get some photo-scaling software of some sort before I try that again.

I got mine at antonline.com for $64 + shipping. You can search there, they have a picture and some specs trhat may help you identify if that's what you're after.

Re: bluetooth keyboard for N800

Guys...I think the original question was if N800 would work with ANY bluetooth keyboard...I'm in the same boat: fishing on eBay for some deals but so far on the forums I've only seen that the keyb should support HID mode (which all do???).
Can someone elaborate on the bluetooth requirements before I end up with a (flat) door stopper?

Thanks :)
