N9 video player control overlays
 

Is there an alternative to the standard video player?

I really miss how I could jump to the next file with my N900, and the possibility of changing the volume w/o touching the buttons... Even the play/pause is now a dumb small button that-is-not-in-the-dead-center-of-the-screen (?!) :[

1. Is there an alternative player? If there is, it must be well hidden.
2. Is the source code of the standard one available for patching? (this question is only half-serious)
3. Are mplayer and python available on Harmattan?

1. There is KMPlayer. You can get the package(s) from garage: https://garage.maemo.org/projects/kmplayer/.

3. Yes. MPlayer package is available from the link above. Python is pre-installed.

Don't know why marxian didn't mention it, but his Open Video Player (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=79537&page=1) is my video player of choice.

Thanks a lot Marxian, but this is for Maemo ; KMPlayer don't seem to ba available for Meego/Harmattan. Also, I'd love to try your OVP, but can't find a repository that holds it..?
