N770 OS and flasher needed
As I am sure everyone here knows, the Nokia tablet site is closed and all the links to the flasher and various OS images are broken.Does anyone know where I can download the flasher and OS2006 for the N770?

Nothing is broken...Nokia does not wish anyone to use their proprietary data is all. So they flushed it.

Considering you need to post at least 8 more messages before you are allowed to private message or receive private messages .... I personally can't help you further until then. |

Oh thank you!!! I very much appreciate your reply and providing the link. I'm heading over there to hunt through the list.
I'm not planning -- or skilled -- to do anything with Nokia's data except to re-install OS2006 as it was when I bought it, but I understand their concern. I just want to keep my N770 going. It's old and slow, but I find that it's still quite useful in so many ways. Thanks again. ktgrrl Quote:

Please, is there anyone able to give me a link of 2008 HE OS and a flasher, I've just bought Nokia 770 for 700 Kč,- (28 €) and I'm stucked with 2006 OS and it's repositories.

Thank you a lot for giving me a link, it works with flasher 3.5, but now i have another qustion. Is there any way to overclock it, it lags like hell. And also, a lot of apps from repository.maemo.org doesn't work because of libncurses5 old version.

1st thing
...go to "applications" and using the drop down at the top left...pop up "tools"...then "repositories" and delete them all (that can be deleted)....otherwise there will be ugly conflicts... 2nd thing go to.. http://www.gronmayer.com/it/ go to it via the n770 browser... pick yur poison partner... there is a button to select all repositories... check it ... hit install... and be patient.... it takes a bit to install the repos proper in the application manager... afterwards ...going back to "applications" and using the drop down at the top left...pop up "tools"...then "repositories" again and simply disable (don't bother to delete) any repos which are dead. That should help some...it should make a great deal more options viable. Make sure not to exit out of lack of patience during your sojourn in the app manager...it will kick back...just let it do it's job...updating...installing etc....whatever job that may be... Lastly...I suggest shouting "YOGURT!!!" out loud at the top of your lungs....mainly because it will shock those around you...thinking you either mad or a genius...as well it is of course therapeutic. As far as overclocking goes...there are tweaks and power saver methods... hum...I must admit while I use my n900, n810's and n800's everyday...all the time...it has been (sigh) a few years since I fired up my old n770.... Ach give me a bit ...I have to remember stuff I haven't thought about and used in years... |
