[Patch] VPNC client for N900 capable to connect to a FRITZ Box
1 Attachment(s)
Hey.
I managed a few weeks ago to connect my N9 via VPN9c to my FRITZ!Box. And then thought heck this should work with my N900 the same way. And guess what? It works :D Now both my darlings connect per VPN to my Home. You need (from repo, I used devel): vpnc and vpnc-gui vpnc needs some patching (you have to exchange the executable /opt/maemo/usr/sbin/vpnc with the attached one) Here are the threads: vpn on n900 vpn9c And some important links: info solution All credit to harbaum (for vpnc), harbaum/scriptkiller (for vpnc-gui) and imagomundi (for the FRITZ hints). Thanks to too (for vpn9c) |
Re: [Question] Someone needs a VPNC client capable to connect to a FRITZ Box
@peterleinchen,
I don't have a fritzbox but I periodically consider replacing my againg speedport with a fritzbox. When the time comes I might also want to set-up a VPN (although I'd probably not do it using the router, but why not give it a try). So yes, if you can post your patches/tweaks I'd be grateful. |
Re: [Question] Someone needs a VPNC client capable to connect to a FRITZ Box
Speedport is some kind of ('raped') FRITZ, or? (iirc)
Had also changed my mind and wanted to add it soon (just asked as using a binary like vpnc from an 'unknown internet source' is ???). Need to grab my N900... -- What I absolutely do not get is: am I really the 'First One' to connect a N900 to a default FRITZ VPN? I know via freetz modifications you can add an OpenVPN server, but who did so, either? |

So you place a nice computer next to your router and you install openvpn *there*. |
