Safest way to clear cache/attachments in Modest (Email)?
I have 2 imap and 1 pop account and the cache +attachment cache on my inbox for all of them totals 50mb, and the cache for sent mail is 50mb. So overall everything takes up 100mb.
Can I simply delete everything in .modest? And is there a way for modest to only show emails from the past week instead of caching everything all the time? Thanks in advance |

Re: Safest way to clear cache/attachments in Modest (Email)?
I have a lot of mail accounts configured, lots of mails in my Inboxes. But all in all I only have roundabout 100MB used. Modest does not store everything, it looks like it deletes items from local device after some time (how long?). Afaik there is no setting to change that time threshold (maybe freemangordon has a clue?).
I would have a look at the size of that folder and see if it really is growing further. If you would like to cleanup it is better to delete the account and recreate it. |

just delete .modest directory and you will free space. I did it some time ago and worked well.
You may move/rename it first just to make sure you wont lose anything |
