A Question About Maemo & Harmattan w.r.t. Deep Sleep

Hi all.
I've heard something called Deep Sleep on Android. Can anyone explain what actualy does this Deep Sleep do? Does our N900's and N9's or Jolla's have this?
Thanks and best regards.

From a quick read on Android forum, it sounds like an app that behaves like power saving mode, but I didn't read too much into it.

Well, things are not that bad, really. I now have cron running on my Jolla device that I now finally have truly waking up the device on an event, and also sshd running so that it reacts to incoming connection attemps.

So, in all counts it behaves exactly like a true linux box, not the androidy way :D

Thanks alot :). Some people claim that Deep Sleep is included on every linux os. Is this justifiable?

Well, Android-originating kernel features like wakelocks have been merged to Linux mainstream kernel tree, so you can well say that all that is included "in every linux os" :D

However, it is up to each system to decide whether and how to implement them.
