Weather-TOH
Hello!
Im just putting it out here. I really want a Weather-TOH. However, I'm a complete n00b. I have no idea how to make anything. Idea: wreck a windspeed meter, salvage parts, find out a way to hook them up with the jolla. Problem: Expensive, but good for a prototype? I also got an AS3935 from an old project, but its on a prototype board for arduino. What i would find nice on the toh: AS3935 Lightning sensor. 40 km range, perfect for hikes, biking, fishing etc. Temperature meter. Humidity. Pressure. Other weather sensors i can't think of right now. Windspeed - (good luck with that lol) First questions: Is it even possible? /Jonatan |

Cool! I have some for-noobs tutorials on my site (funkyotherhalf.com) that could start you off in the right direction.
All is possible! |

hmm, that AS3935 sounds an interesting thing, have seen it before Jolla existed.
I think it is best to get a breadboard-toh (when it is ready) and hook it up there, and write some code. A notification "Lightning detected, Distance ~ 11 km" sounds tempting :) |

Mmm, putting [outdoor] sensors into OH [connected to a phone sensitive to elements] doesn't sound like a very good idea.
Everything listed (minus windspeed) could be easily achieved by a proper application connected to Sensodrone (over BT). I could probably lend one to a brave soul willing to create an app (there are existing Java, Objective C and .Net sources). |
