playing music from pc

I was wondering if anyone uses bluetooth connection from n900 to pc to play music from phone through the pc speakers.

I was not able to set it up - connecting to the pc with bluetooth does not allow for music/sound playback (connection as headset).

I am interested in this functionality too but didn't had the time to search how to do it.

why through pc?
Unless the purpose is music creation and it needs to be funneled into the laptop for the purpose of running live n900 piped sound through a specific pc program in real time...why go to the trouble?
Not enough guts to pound it out...Me I just pipe it straight out again anyway to my amps.

Personally never cared for the sound out of onboard laptop/ pc speakers...

bt? wellll why not just bluetooth to speakers?

For me when I listen to tunes...around the studio ...I just plug in to my surround sound system...

In my dusty shop...I just use wired and plugged...(cheap....don't have to wait for it to recharge...belts it out too having separate power supply.)

My surround system is connected to the pc, and it does not support bluetooth connection by itself.

For that scenario I use the Nokia Wireless Music Receiver to enhance the surround system with bluetooth functionality.

At one end you connect the Wireless music receiver with an appropriate cable to your amplifier AUX or Tape, or to the computer's line in, whatever you prefer ,
and on the other end is of course your faithful N900 transferring the sound over bluetooth.

The device has a nice metal touch, uses some standard Nokia power supply pin (the thinnest one) and supports NFC.

Yes there used to be a time that I only had to tap my 808 to the device in order to play its sound (streaming music, movie or file) over my big amplifier connected speakers.
Now I am back on N900 without NFC, but it is still convenient.

there are many solutions similar to this thanks, but i'm looking for something else - i already have the connection to the audio system from the PC - just want to connect to the PC with bluetooth for audio.

I can simply connect my N900 to my Ubuntu machine via bluetooth and then press play on the N900.
