Microsoft Lumia

Microsoft is already in the process of transitioning Nokia domain names and social network sites to the name "Microsoft Lumia" and discontinuing existing products. On November 11th Microsoft will unveil their first Microsoft branded Lumia. I will post updates as they come. I am sad that Nokia Devices and Services, at least for the time being is no more but I am cautiously optimistic that Microsoft can make something good.

we all knew that this will happen one day when Elop joined Nokia. nows its not even shocking because it was the plan since start.

Too bad they took to their deep-freezer and partially to Apple, Pureview, a clever and innovative combination of digital camera technologies and software that could have stood its own as a camera brand.
It would have been interesting to see the Asia dominated prosumer point-and- shoot camera market attacked from a different angle, with a fresh vision.
Pureview enabled N900 successor with Neo900 or better hardware, capable of running powerful image post processing software would have been the real (timeless) deal IMO.

On the positive side, now that the transition to Microsoft brand is complete I won't have to feel ashamed carrying the Nokia brand on my old phones much longer.
People will soon forget Lumia started through Nokia and I don't expect to see "vintage Nokia Lumia's" to be very useful to collectors in a couple of years. :p

That depends on your definition of "something good"

If you want a shiny high-end handset that has been crippled by wrapping it up in a walled garden then I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

If you want something useful, then you'd need to look elsewhere... :(

More pre - launch leaks! Not only are they going to release the 535 model but they are also apparently releasing a higher end model called the 1330.
